You work hard for your money. So hard for the money. Keep some of that hard earned money the next time you need a little R&R with one word: Staycation.

Why would I want to stay in town for my much-coveted time off, you might ask?

One, you live in a tourist town. Two, you’re trying to save a little cashola. Three, more vacation, less travel.

Here’s a handful of hotels where you can vay-cay like a rock star on a local band budget. Okay, maybe mid-level indie rock group.

The Raleigh

We love this spot for its old Miami Beach flair and boutique feel. You’ll love it for their “Hey Neighbor” rate.

Florida residents stay for $169/night, plus free valet (a big deal, trust us) and room upgrade. To reserve online, just click on “Special Rates,” select “Guest,” account ID “Florida” and access code “Local.”

The Standard

We love The Standard for its oh-so hidden locale, you’ll love The Standard for its not-so hidden love for locals.

The hotel’s “Love Thy Neighbor” special, which offers a rate of $139/night for Florida residents, plus complimentary valet and 10 percent off all spa services. Score it by following the same directions as the Raleigh “Hey Neighbor” special above.

The Ritz-Carlton

We love the Ritz because there are so many to choose from (South Beach, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Fort Lauderdale), you’ll love them because whichever location you choose, expect nothing but the best.

Summer rates range from $149-$249/night, depending on the property; and their Reconnect package, which includes American breakfast and a resort credit ranging from $30-$100, runs from $169-$349. The Ritz has tons of other summer package deals, so just call ‘em up or hop online and start planning some much-needed pampering.

The Anglers

We love the Anglers for its ability to remain discreet and chic on bustling, nightclub-laden Washington Ave. You’ll love the Anglers for its quiet coziness and individualized treatment.

This summer, Florida residents get 15 percent off the hotel’s best rate, plus complimentary beach chairs and bag, and valet. With all that leftover cash, you can have dinner at their new restaurant 660 Mediterranean Kitchen.

The Setai

We love The Setai for being the Jackie Kennedy of South Beach hotels. Sophisticated, private and timeless. You’ll love the Setai because you can leave to get your nightlife on and come back to perfect sereneness.

First, the good news – The Setai’s “Special Neighbors Rate” is 55 percent off regular room rates. The bad news – rooms, with the special, still start at $525. With it, though, you get breakfast at The Restaurant, which puts on a spectacular spread, and that coveted valet parking. Did we mention there are three pools, all at different temperatures?
