Design and Dine Simply Divine

Fashion meets foodstuffs at Miami party

If you’ve got the a taste for fashion and for food, there’s room at the table for you at Design and Dine. The under-relished Design District will be alight with people tonight to celebrate this year’s Miami New Times Best of Miami issue.

Design and Dine will take place at the Buena Vista Building, which has long pumped as one of the main veins in this area, housing galleries and designy furniture shops.

Models will strut their stuff in cocktail dresses and 25 food spots will compete to please your palette. The party will mix munching with couture to the beats of various local DJs, latin rock and Bahamian jam.

Showcasing artists include Aholsniffsglue, whose work includes interactive and graffiti art, David “LEBO” LeBatard, whose graphic characters are painted on the sides of local buildings and Oliver Sanchez, who created a buzz with his piece “Bordello Bodega,” a social spot and convenience store outside of his studio.

All of this and an open bar? Fabulous. A free after-party at Vagabond’s Thursday night party, Shake (voted Best Of)? Yes. We would suggest forking over the $30, pounding drinks and eating like it’s your profession.

The event is sponsored by the City of Miami Cultural Arts and Entertainment and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the volunteer organizing org, Hands on Miami.
