A stylist at Fashion Week in London reportedly quit because a designer insisted on using average-sized models, according to a report.

Designer Mark Fast’s stylist quit shortly before the show at London Fashion Week because he used average-sized models -- a development that was tweeted by an Elle reporter right before the show.

Fast, known for his tightly-fitted knitwear, showed off his collection using three size 12 and 14 models.

Fast’s managing director, Amanda May said she was “so happy we stuck to our guns over the casting”.  The decision to use the models comes after media attention over London models’ painfully thin appearance, according to The Guardian (U.K.).

“We are very concerned that the lack of medical checks for models at London Fashion Week, coupled with an environment where being underweight is the norm, prevents those with eating disorders from gaining insight into their condition," professor Urike Schmidt, chair of the Institute of Psychiatry’s eating disorder team, told the paper.
