Live Music This Week

Tues., Oct 1- Gloria Estefan at Gusman Theatre, 8 pm

There are few cultural icons that have represented Miami the way Gloria Estefan has. Since her days at Miami Sound Machine, Estefan has been a force, and alongside her husband have created an indelible mark on the city. On Tuesday night, the legend graces the stage at the Gusman Theatre to a sold out show, starting at 8 p.m.

Thurs., Oct. 3 – Sat., Oct. 5 –Three Points Festival

This weekend, Wynwood plays host to a festival that is the first of its kind here in Miami. Not only will the festival feature the best of Miami artists, but also ties in technology and film. The highlight of Three Points is music however, as Friday night features Point Bass with DJ Shadow, and Saturday night brings Jamie XX, James Murphy, and other together.

Thurs., Oct. 3 – Miami Horror at Bardot, 10 pm, $30

While it may seem like a natural homecoming for a group named Miami Horror to be playing this week, the group actually hails from Australia. The indie group is known for using synth-heavy, 80s influenced sounds, which means this Thursday at Bardot will be nothing less than a full blown dance party. Miami Horror graces the carpet, joined by Dude Skywalker and Pirate Stereo, starting at 10 pm.

Fri., Oct. 4 – Julieta Venegas at Fillmore Miami Beach, 8 p.m., $33.50 to $53.50

Mexican singer songwriter Julieta Venegas  has been creating her distinct Spanish pop-rock sound since the late 90s, with her first album ‘Aqui’. With six albums, five Latin Grammys, and one Grammy, Venegas continues to expand on a decade long career. This Friday, Venegas brings the ‘Los Momentos’ tour to the Fillmore, starting at 8 pm.
