High heels are a thing of the past.
According to Telemundo’s fashion reporter and stylist Quique Usales, low heels are this summer’s latest fashion trend.
“The most in-style trend for this summer is the low and medium heels,” said Usales on the Al Rojo Vivo show.
Recently, low and low block-shaped heels have been seen in numerous runway shows such as Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton.
“All the important designers like Valentino and Manolo Blahnik are bringing out collections with low heels,” Samantha Ferrini from Saks Fifth Avenue in Dadeland Mall told Usales.
She said the store has been getting more and more of these shoes, in different colors and designs.
“Another option is the square heels,”Usales said on Telemundo. “They have the best support-- you could even run a marathon with them.”
He also suggested pointed-toe pumps or platforms.
“Fashion trends aren’t always realistic, but this one is,” Ferrini said. “It allows women to walk for a long time without getting tired.”
These low heels are usually one or two inches long and come in various styles. Some designers such as Miu Miu, Dries Van Noten and Nicholas Kirkwood are coming up with unique designs for their heels such as triangular shapes, crystal and round heels.
