Affordable Care Exhibition
 
Flaunt Magazine and Wildfox, in association with 3P Productions, will present a three-day public art exhibition, "Affordable Care," a group show taking place during Miami Art Week at Mana Wynwood (318 NW 23rd Street) in the Miami Art District, from December 4 - 8. The indoor/outdoor exhibit is free and open to the public during the day and will feature two private evening events.  Attendees will experience the on-site physical assembly of Flaunt Magazine's forthcoming Art Issue called The Care Issue: Mixed Feelings. On exhibit will be work from artists Ben Jones, Melanie Pullen, David LaChapelle, Robert Montgomery, Petra Cortright, Vance Lorenzini, Yung Jake, Jeanette Hayes, with a special pavilion presented by Opus Reps, which will feature work from Mary Ellen Mark, Bert Stern, Hunter & Gatti, Greg Lotus and Paul Solomons.  Michael Leondas Kirkland, of mkarte, is the event’s Executive Producer, which kicks off on Wednesday with a private party featuring a collaboration between Vanessa Beecroft and Kanye West, that includes a performance piece which will see Beecroft's choreography of models in interplay with clay, amidst Beecroft sculptures.  Throughout the nights of the exhibition, guests may enjoy performances by Boy George, Kendrick Lamar and Questlove.  For more information and for tickets to the concerts, visit:  artbaselmanawynwood.com
 
IDOLIZE Exhibit
 
I D O L I Z E, the cutting edge platform for the intersection of art, fashion, and design, has collaborated with five young international artists Cope/Arnold, Romulo Sans, Alberto Maria Colombo, Sean Augustine March, and Ben Duggan / Jake Lamagno, to create a series of original works in photography and mixed-media, and limited edition prints that will be sold during a five day Pop Up Show exhibition.  Each artist, distinct in his own style and point of view, has presented work featured in the past season’s concept art book.  The exhibit runs from Wednesday, December 4 through Sunday, December 8 from 10 am to 6 pm. 12 SHOES for 12 LOVERS Exhibition
 
In “12 SHOES for 12 LOVERS” Errazuriz and Melissa Pop Up Miami unveils 12 unique shoe sculptures, each inspired by a real former girlfriend or lover: from "Jet Setter" and "Gold Digger" to "Heart Breaker" and "Honey."  The sculptures are rendered with state-of-the art 3-D printing technology, through which the artist explores the boundaries between art and product design.  
The exhibition will be unveiled during a private cocktail reception hosted by Gray Area founder  Kyle Dewoody on Thursday, December 5, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Melissa Pop Up Shop on 830 Lincoln Road. Dinner with Russell Simmons
 
Russell Simmons along with former Bravo TV star Jill Zarin from Real Housewives of New York City, will participate in an intimate dinner party in South Florida on Thursday, December 5,  at the home of Allison and Chip Brady to benefit Penn Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.  The event is sponsored by Christofle, celebrating 180 years of providing luxury silver table top, gifts and jewelry.  Guests at the Penn Medicine event will enjoy a luxurious dining experience during which one lucky winner will pick a bottle and pull its cork and discover they get to take home their very own Malmaison Champagne bucket, stylized from the Napoleonic era and valued at $1500.  To continue the Art Basel Miami Beach festivities, Russell Simmons, his brother, artist Danny Simmons, and board members including the Bradys, Marc J. Light, Paper and a Trunk Show at the Ritz
 
The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach will showcase its monumental fiberglass fabric installation titled “Light and Paper” the work of German sculptor Angela Glajcar, in the lobby of the hotel starting this week. Measuring 21 feet long and 8 feet high, the installation will be open to the public.  Art enthusiasts and hotel guests are also encouraged to tour the $2 million dollar contemporary art collection of Latin American and European artists displayed throughout The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach.  Arrange for a tour with resident "Basel Ambassador" Noel Lanzas, an art aficionado and concierge who's developed his own “Art Basel Bible” – a comprehensive book of all the planned activities, art openings, showings, installations, exhibits and parties. Take a Break from Basel and Dance, Dance, Dance!
 
On Saturday, December 7, the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana is hosting its annual Christmas Gala at the Miami Seaquarium. The much-anticipated event will feature special performances by Grammy Award winner Willy Chirino along with Latin pop star Lisa Lisa and People You Know.  So bring your dancing shoes! There will also be an open bar by Bacardi and restaurant dinner stations by Happy Wine, Truluck’s, Bread and Butter, Giardino’s, Latin House, Pincho Factory, and a few others.  Proceeds from the gala will benefit the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana holiday project: "A Toy for Every Child."
