What You're Doing This Week: May 6-12

Honey Shine's Hats Off Lunch

One of the most fun afternoons awaits at Honey Shine’s 11th Annual Hats Off Luncheon, which takes place from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at Jungle Island’s Treetop Ballroom. Dust off your favorite hat (it should be fresh from the Derby this weekend) and head over to shop, sip and lunch along with Tracy Wilson Mourning, founder of Honey Shine, and Lady Bug members and friends of the program, who will also be donning their favorite hats at the premier fundraising event to continue enriching the lives of the young girls enrolled in the program, known as the “Honey Bugs.”  The luncheon will celebrate this year’s theme, “Peace, Love, Honeyshine,” with a colorful, retro chic 60’s décor, a welcome reception, a silent auction featuring designer and vintage handbags, vacation stays, jewelry and more, a luncheon, and the always-anticipated “Honey Bug” Showcase – a catwalk fashion show sponsored by Aventura Mall that features select Honey Bugs, who have exemplified exceptional participation and improvement in grades. Dress "casual chic" and wear a hat- so you don't feel left out!  Tickets to the luncheon cost $125 and memberships to Honey Shine begin at $250. RSVP at rsvp@honeyshine.org or (305) 854-2444.
