Saks Key to the Cure

Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour will host a Key To The Cure kick-off celebration on Wednesday, October 16, at 6 p.m. featuring hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment and, of course, shopping. The kick-off will also feature tastings from Miami's top restaurants and cocktails provided by Southern Wine & Spirits. During the shopping weekend, 2 percent of participating vendor sales from Saks Bal Harbour - up to $500,000 - will be donated to the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center. Admission to the kick-off party is $25 with 100 percent of admission proceeds going to The Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center. Admission may be reserved online by clicking here.

Concrete Paradise Opening

On Oct. 17, from 7 to 10 p.m., the Coral Gables Museum will present Concrete Paradise: Miami Marine Stadium, an original exhibition devoted to Miami Marine Stadium’s flashy past, its edgy present and its spectacular proposed comeback as a world-class sports and performance venue. Curated by renowned author and architectural conservator Rosa Lowinger this interactive exhibit will bring the glory days of Miami’s most daringly modern structure back to life through stunning video footage, rare photos and keepsakes, original art installations, photo murals of the stadium’s infamous graffiti, and an antique hydroplane. It will conclude with a special section dedicated to the stadium’s next chapter featuring never before seen site renderings.

Funkshion Fashion Week Miami Beach

Funkshion: Fashion Week Miami Beach celebrates its 25th season Oct. 16th to 19th in Miami Beach. As with every year, Funkshion will fuse music and fashion. The fashion tents will be set up at Collins Park in Miami Beach where all shows will take place. Funkshion spans four days where designers will showcase their collections to media, celebrities, international buyers and select style-makers. Jose's Hands MEDDY Awards

MEDDY Awards Medical and lifestyle organizations will gather on Oct. 18, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., for the 1st Annual MEDDY Awards, at Hyde Beach in the SLS Hotel, to honor those who have contributed to medical missions abroad. The event, presented by NBC6 traffic reporter Kelly Blanco, will benefit local charity Jose’s Hands and feature an inspiring Beauty & Fashion Experience, in collaboration with celebrity-endorsed designer Kymerah, luxury salon Warren-Tricomi, and modeling agency Quintessential Promotions. The evening will also count with performances by renowned local female powerhouse DJ YSL, alongside Miami’s celebrity drummer David Silva. Tickets can be purchased here.
