DJ Fedde Le Grand, who is making a name for himself worldwide, told Niteside during his stint at LIV over the Labor Day weekend that he isn't interested in being the best in his industry.
"Some people take this industry too seriously," said the DJ, originally from Holland.
"My goal is not to be the best DJ is the world. I just love what I do, and I want to keep it that way. I really don't want to get frustrated worrying that someone is trying to surpass me."
Grand also revealed that he would not miss Miami's biggest music festival: Ultra 2011. He said Miami is a unique city to spin in.
"The difference in Miami is the atmosphere. I have rarely seen it anywhere else," he said. "I don't know what it is. It is a highlight of my year."
Grand has been enjoying the success of his hit song "Put Your Hands Up for Detroit." He said it was the feel of the Motor City that inspired him to release the song.
“When we decided to release it, we thought about changing the city, but we decided to keep it Detroit," he said. "Surprisingly, there is so much great techno there. The city inspires me and reminds me of the Netherlands. I feel at home being there.”
