“Real Housewives of Miami's” Adriana De Moura Talks Second Season

For the last few weeks, the first ladies of Bravo have taken over the headlines. With four ladies of Real Housewives of New York getting pink slips and the suicide of Taylor Armstrong’s husband from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, it’s hard to ignore the franchise. Especially with rumors around town that Real Housewives of Miami is coming back for a second season. To clear up any questions, we went straight to a source: Adriana De Moura.

De Moura, who recently hosted Fashion For Our Future at The Moore Building, was made famous for being the cast’s “Brazilian bombshell” and for never being afraid to hold her tongue. And lucky for us, she didn’t when we sat down with her to ask her about everything from what it takes to be a “real housewife” to all gossip going on with her fellow Bravo broads.

You always look fabulous. What are a few of your favorite stores in Miami?
Bal Harbour, of course, because they have the best brands. I always really love Macy’s, especially for any girl on a budget. You can find such good stuff there that are fabulous and affordable. If there is no budget, I like to head over to Valentino and Miu Miu. I adore those two brands.

You are a mom, fiancé and successful gallery owner: How do you do it all?

It’s not always easy. It’s a crazy life going back and forth so much. I have to drive my son to school, go to work and things come up for the show, all while trying to get home and be with my family. It’s a lot of juggling, but I manage. Some days I don’t know how. I will admit that I have a housekeeper that saves my life.

I know you got the chance to hang out with recently fired Housewife, Jill Zarin, at Fashion’s Night Out.
I know she seems a little intimidating, but she was very warm. Its very strange when we all meet each other, even if we have never seen one another before, its like you know each other. It’s a strange thing; It’s like a sisterhood.

Was it strange to have your life on TV during Real Housewives of Miami?
It was strange. It is my life, but it’s a life that has been added to. It’s not necessarily 100 percent my life, but it is indeed my life. A lot of fans ask me about my fiancé and when are we getting married? Since the show, it’s been so crazy and busy. We haven’t had time to go there. Maybe one season we will do it!

Will there in fact be a season two?

That is the word on the street. You will have to ask Bravo.

If there were a second season, would you do it again?
Definitely. I had fun, but it is emotional. It takes more than people realize. It’s a lot of thinking about wardrobe, your hair, and just living in general. You have to think, are they going to criticize me for this? After the reunion, I was sick in bed for two days. It was so emotional draining for me.

Do you watch the other season of
Real Housewives?
Oh yeah, we all do. For me, it’s homework. I want to know what’s going on! If someone else has done something, we don’t want to it when our season comes around. Of course we want to know all the commotion going on too. Atlanta is one of my favorite-- they are hilarious. I have met NeNe Leakes and when we text each other when she is in town. New York and Beverly Hills are a favorite too.

What did you do when you heard the news of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Taylor Armstrong’s husband taking his own life?
As soon as we saw the news, I called (castmate) Lea Black because we are the closest. We were just talking to each other in disbelief. We were like everyone else, we couldn’t believe this was happening. We feel for Taylor, everyone involved in her franchise and then you have to think, is this going to affect all of the series? There were a lot of thoughts running through my mind. My heart goes out to Taylor because it’s a lot of pressure.  If you are not in a good spot in your life, it can get to you.
