Jason Segel Wants Emily Blunt for a “Five-Year Engagement”

It seems that Jason Segel is eager for a reunion with his "Gulliver's Travels" cos-star, Emily Blunt.

Segel is poised to offer Blunt a role in "Five-Year Engagement," according to Vulture. Segel co-wrote the screenplay, about the ups and downs of an engaged couple as the slowly inch their way toward the altar, with Nicholas Stoller, who will direct. Judd Apatow is producing.

Stoller has directed Segel in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," and this summer helmed that film's spin-off, "Get Him to the Greek."

This new film follows the ups and downs of an engaged couples romance as the slowly inch their way toward the altar.

"It's definitely an extension of our desire to explore the depth of human misery," Stoller told Variety back in 2008. "If Sarah Marshall (played by Kristen Bell) and Jason's character had stayed together, this might be the sequel."

Segel and Stoller previously tried to get Blunt to play Aldous Snow's wife Jackie Q in "Greek"-- a role that Rose Byrne absolutely crushed--but she was contractually obligated to do "Gulliver's" instead.

Blunt's had a tough year, thus far, having to drop out of "Greek" for "Gulliver," the epic flop of "Wolfman" and "The Adjustment Bureau" getting pushed back from September to March. But, hey, he she got married to John Krasinski, so she's got that going for her, which is nice.
