Kristen Stewart's Flight From Bella Continues

Kristen Stewart's anti-Bella campaign continues.

This Friday we'll see her as rocker Joan Jett in "The Runaways" where Stewart gleefully pees on a rival's guitar and makes out with co-star Dakota Fanning. On Friday, Sony pictures reached a deal to distribute her next movie "Welcome to the Rileys," according to Variety.com

Stewart plays a 16-year-old prostitute in the new indie-film role which will receive a full release. The story revolves around a couple (James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo) whose marriage is on the rocks after the loss of their 15-year-old daughter. Gandolfini (as Doug Riley) meets Stewart (Mallory) on a business trip. His estranged wife gets involved and the couple eventually try to take the young prostitute under their wing to help her mend her ways.

The movie opened to good reviews in Sundance. But it's not your mainstream fare for the actress best known as the girl trying to hold onto her hunky vampire boyfriend (with the local sheriff as her father). Stewart is clearly making a conscientious -- and quite obvious -- decision to try to move away from the box-office character she will play again on June 30, when "Eclipse" is released.

At least one movie-goer is excited about the change. When Chicago Sun-Times legend Roger Ebert saw the film at Sundance, he tweeted: "Kristen Stewart is a fine actress. Saints preserve her from vampire movies."
