Wahlberg Says “Entourage” Movie Will Happen “If I Had to Finance It Myself”

In an era of hard-R comedies and Hollywood's endless love affair with re-purposing, an "Entourage" movie has been a hot topic of conversation for some time now. With the show's finale looming, it seems a film is gonna happen--even if Mark Wahlberg has to open his own wallet.

"If I had to finance it myself, I would do it," Wahlberg, the show's executive producer, told the Television Critics Association yesterday. "I've been telling Doug, "The Hangover" is to me very much like "Entourage", and look at all the recent success of R-rated movies."

"Doug" is Doug Ellin, the show's creator and EP, who seconded Wahlberg's determination.

We’re going to do a movie," he said. "We’re going to do it, the questing is when and how quickly. Hopefully we'll come down with an idea and make it happen."

The eighth and final season of "Entourage" premiered this past Sunday on HBO.
