Hope Is Where The Heart Is

Tonight, non-profit org Take Hope hosts its inaugural fundraiser event Fashion for Hope at The Setai. The event’s goal is to raise $25,000 in order to start a foundation at Sylvester Comprehensive Center for those patients who cannot afford cancer treatment. Tickets start at $100 and include complimentary specialty drinks and hors d'oeuvres for the first hour; a fashion show by local designer Alexis and Chrome Hearts accessories; plus a silent auction featuring a weekend at Bimini Bay Resort, a cigar humidor from Miami Cigar and others. The Cuban-American journalist has wrestled an alligator, flown a Cessna to get over her fear of flying and been the first woman to ride an Indy car as a passenger, yet she finds her biggest adrenaline rush from hitting up stores with sales.

      Lauren loves to be in the know and in a great pair of shoes. You can usually find her searching near and far for the best deals around town. Her parents think she has a spending problem, but she likes to think she's just contributing relief to the economy.
