    While it's important to honor past legends during Black History Month, it's also important to recognize the future history makers in the Black community. NBC 6's Faces of the Future highlights the young leaders shaping lives in South Florida.

    NBC 6 celebrates future history makers this Black History Month. We highlight young leaders who are shaping lives in South Florida as they enlighten and empower the next generation. Their passion is infectious and their activism is boundless. They are the legends of tomorrow who are already building their legacies today.

    Jawan Strader profiles Joshua Williams, the founder of the Joshua’s Heart Foundation. His non-profit delivers food to the homeless. Click here to learn more about Joshua's foundation.

    Erika Glover shares the story of Ashley Eubanks, a Broward school registrar who leads the Help Her Period organization. Eubanks and volunteers hand out sanitary items to homeless women every weekend. To learn more or to donate to Help Her Period click here

    Michael Spears highlights Miami artist Chire Regans, who creates portraits of young gun violence victims to pay tribute to them and to protest against the senseless shootings.

    Darryl Forges introduces us to Demetrius Jackson, a University of Miami football player who goes beyond the game. He leads Young Men of Tomorrow, which is a mentoring program in his hometown Overtown.

    Willard Shepard profiles FIU senior Jessica Laguerre, who started the Princess Training organization, which trains young girls on how to become entrepreneurs. To learn more about Princess Training, click here.

    Sharon Lawson highlights a free class for Miami students that is led by the iconic Alvin Ailey Dance Theater.
