Britney Spears Sued for $10M Over Fragrance Deal

Lawsuit claims breach of contract, fraud and deceit

Doing business with Britney Spears stinks, according to a brand marketing company that is suing the pop star and her father for $10 million over a perfume deal.

Brand Sense Partners LLC filed suit in Los Angeles Wednesday claiming the “Toxic” singer and dad Jaime Spears cut the firm out in renegotiating a royalties deal with cosmetics company Elizabeth Arden last year, The Associated Press and RadarOnline reported.

According to the lawsuit, the new deal allegedly broke Spears' 2004 agreement with Brand Sense that stipulated the firm was owed a 35 percent commission from licensing her perfume line.

Jamie Spears “complained that the commission was too high and said that Britney did not want to pay it," the suit alleges, according to Radar. Spears’ father has been legally in charge of her finances since she suffered a meltdown in 2008.

The pair are being sued for breach of contract, fraud and deceit.

A rep for Britney Spears has not yet responded to reports about the lawsuits. The pop star's latest album "Femme Fatale" dropped earlier this week.
