Ex-Miss California Carrie Prejean confirmed the existence of a steamy video she made of herself performing a solo sex act and said the so-called sex tape was the "biggest mistake of my life."

"They can call it whatever they want to call it, but it was the biggest mistake of my life," Prejean, 22, told Fox News' Sean Hannity on Monday. "I was all by myself. I was a teenager at the time, and never did I ever think it would come out. But it was bad judgment."

"It's embarrassing, and it's humiliating to be talking about this of national TV."

The embattled beauty queen -- who said she's been targeted by critics as a conservative women -- said the steamy tape features her by herself and was filmed for her then-boyfriend who Prejean said she "loved and cared about" at the time.

"I was all by myself and no one was in the room with me," Prejean said of the tape. "I was not having sex with anybody, and call it whatever you want to call it."

Prejean a conservative cause celebre since speaking out against gay marriage in last year’s Miss USA Pageant, said she takes “full responsibility” for having made the "embarrassing" recording, first reported by TMZ as a "solo sex tape."

"I've learned from my mistakes," she said on the "Today" show on Tuesday. "It's been seven months since I gave that answer and they've done nothing but attack me."

She said she fears the tape will eventually leak online and that critics opposed to her conservative positions will keep trying to dig up more dirt on her.

"I think anyone would be concerned that the biggest mistake of their life would be aired," she said. "I never said I was perfect."

After losing her shot at becoming Miss USA, Prejean was accused of reneging on official Miss California commitments and stripped of her state crown.

Last week, she settled a libel and emotional distress lawsuit with the Miss California pageant, which itself dropped a countersuit over reimbursement for Prejean's $5,200 breast implants.

Prejean’s new tome, “Still Standing – the Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate and Political Attacks” is now out in stores.
