Celebrity Strippers

Take a look back at some of the Hollywood beauties who have taken it off on screen. Rose McGowan's performance as Cherry Darling in "Planet Terror" was so hot that director Robert Rodriguez left his wife to be with her. Years earlier Rodriguez cast Salma Hayek as Santanico Pandemonium in "From Dusk Till Dawn." The man is, quite simply, a genius. Natalie Wood took the title role in "Gypsy Rose Lee," the true-ish story of a young woman's rise to fame in the world of burlesque. Jessica Alba strutted her stuff in "Sin City" as Nancy Callahan, a young woman rescued from the clutches of the maniacal Roark Junior by John Hartigan, played by Bruce Willis. Elizabeth Berkely worked the pole in the notorious "Showgirls," screenwriter Joe Eszterhas' paean to the women of the Las Vegas Strip. Daryl Hannah headed an ensemble cast of strippers, including Sandra Oh and Jennifer Tilly, in "Dancing at The Blue Iguana." Pamela Anderson inspired and voiced the cartoon dancer "Stripperella," which lasted a mere 13 episodes. It was likely doomed by the abundance of scantily clad Pam that is readily available. Natalie Portman starred as Alice in "Closer," a dark, brooding meditation on how selfish and miserable people in relationships can be. Sure, she looked great, but who could enjoy it? Demi Moore's eye-popping performance in "Striptease," based on the Carl Hiaasen book of the same name, allowed men in the audience to ignore how awful the rest of the film was. Christopher Atkins parlayed his star turn in "Blue Lagoon" into the lead role in "A Night in Heaven," as Ricky "The Rocket" Monroe, a part-time stripper who falls for his cougar college professor, played by Lesley Ann Warren. Lindsay Lohan's "I Know Who Killed Me" cleaned up at the Razzies, taking home eight awards, including three for Lohan herself, who played her own evil twin in the utterly forgettable film.
