Redmond O'Neal Admits to Probation Violation

Redmond O'Neal, the son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett, was taken into custody Thursday after a court hearing in an LA courtroom.

LA Superior Court Judge Keith I. Schwartz revoked probation a day after a letter from a rehabiliation facility indicated O'Neal was in violation of the terms. The letter stated that on Sunday O'Neal accessed a payphone and had drugs delivered to the facility.

A representative from the facility told the judge the center fell short in its monitoring of O'Neal. In court Thursday, O'Neal admitted that he violated his probation.

"He violated probation by using drugs,'' attorney Mike Brewer said after the court  hearing. "He's kicking himself. He can't believe he made this mistake.''

O'Neal, 26, pleaded no content to drug and weapons charges in August. At that time, he was sentenced one year in a live-in rehabilitation program.

O'Neal was in court Thursday. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 7.

The judge said he would consider sending O'Neal back to the rehabilitation program if specific conditions are met. Those conditions include no access for a phone.
