Perhaps, like so many episodes of "Three's Company," it's all just a big misunderstanding.

Perhaps not.

El Segundo, Calif., police say they saw actress Joyce DeWitt drive through a barricade near a park just before 4:20 p.m. on the Fourth of July.  And then when she was stopped an officer "observed signs and symptoms" of intoxication.  After a series of field sobriety tests, she was arrested, according to Sergeant Danny Kim.

DeWitt, 60, was booked for misdemeanor DUI, and was released about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on $5,000 bail, according to the sheriff's department.

She portrayed Janet Wood on the popular show, which ran from 1977-1984 and also starred Suzanne Somers and the late John Ritter..
