“American Horror Story” Actor Ben Woolf Dead at 34

Ben Woolf, the actor known for his role in "American Horror Story: Freak Show," has died following a head injury that occurred last week, Woolf's representative confirmed Monday.

"Ben was one-of-a-kind, and will never be forgotten," Woolf's rep tells E! News in a statement. "The time we all shared together will be remembered forever."

Additionally, his family says, "We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben. He touched so many hearts in his 34 years. His memory will live on within each of us and within his work."

Woolf, who stands at 4 feet, 4 inches tall and played the character Meep on "Freak Show," was hit in the head by a car mirror Thursday night as he was crossing a street in Hollywood. He was taken to a hospital where he remained in critical condition until he passed away today.

On Saturday, just two days after the accident occurred, E! News spoke to Woolf's Freak Show co-star Naomi Grossman about the tragic accident. "It's awful to hear the news of your friend [in an accident]," Grossman, who plays Pepper on the hit series, told E! News exclusively this weekend. "We're very close."

Grossman added, "We're all in contact and from what I understand Kathy Bates tweeted that he was out of surgery and he's now in stable yet still critical condition. So we're just hoping for the best. I'm waiting like for any moment they're going to tell me I can go visit and I'll be there."

The driver of the car involved in the incident was not ticketed because Woolf was jaywalking, LAPD previously confirmed to E! News. "No crime was committed," the LAPD said. "The driver remained at the scene."
