“America’s Got Talent” star Jackie Evancho will sing the national anthem at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Jan. 20.

The 16-year-old singer announced her performance on NBC's "Today" show Wednesday morning, saying, “I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome."

The Pittsburgh native was the runner-up on “America’s Got Talent” in 2010 when she was just 10 years old. Since then, Evancho has released albums and has even performed a couple of times for President Obama -- in 2010 at the National Christmas Tree Lighting and this year at A Capitol Fourth, an annual concert in Washington, D.C., on July 4.

“I feel really honored to have the chance to perform for the president again,” Evancho said of Obama.

Evancho met Trump shortly after her run on “America’s Got Talent,” at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida in February 2011.

Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn tweeted confirmation about the choice of Evancho shortly after her appearance on "Today." He called her “an inspiration for all Americans.”

Beyonce sang the national anthem at the second inauguration for Obama, and Aretha Franklin performed during his first ceremony.
