Bob Marley For Kids: Reggae Icon is Subject Of New Children's Musical

Reggae icon Bob Marley is the subject of a new musical for children opening this week in Berkeley, called "Three Little Birds: A New Reggae Children's Musical."

The Contra Costa Times notes the musical is based on a story written by Cedella Marley, the music legend's daughter. It's about a boy named "Ziggy," who learns how to travel outside of his comfort zone to a "don't worry, every little thing's gonna be all right" sound score, the newspaper reported.

The director, Michael Mohammed, a faculty member of the San Francisco Community Music Center, says that he's also addressing race in a way that children can appreciate.

The show runs from Jan. 24 to Feb. 15 at Freight & Salvage, 2020 Addison Street. Shows are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
