“Fifty Shades of Grey” Trailer Makes Its Debut

The wait is finally over.

A "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie trailer deemed "too hot for morning TV" by NBC went live Thursday morning.

The steamy trailer debuted in an abbreviated version on "Today," and gave a glimpse of the provocative romantic drama for which the book trilogy by E.L. James is best known. After it went on air, the full 2:17 minute-long version hit the web.

#FiftyShadesofGreyTrailer became a trending hashtag on Twitter within minutes of the trailer's release.

Michael Philips, film critic at The Chicago Tribune, tweeted about the new trailer with a hint of sarcastic enthusiasm.

"Today" also confirmed that Beyonce re-recorded her 2003 hit song, "Crazy in Love" for the movie's soundtrack.

The film, due out next Valentine's Day, stars Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.

"Today" will air an exclusive interview with the two stars of the film on Friday.
