“Full House” Getting the Unauthorized TV Movie Treatment on Lifetime

Cut. It. Out. "Full House" is getting the Lifetime TV movie treatment. Yep, just as "Saved By the Bell" did before it, Full House will get the unauthorized treatment with "The Unauthorized 'Full House' Story," E! News has confirmed. The same people who brought you the "Unauthorized 'Saved By the Bell' Story" are behind the Full House TV movie.

The Lifetime movie will take a look at the rise of the cast–including Bob Saget, John Stamos and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen–and the behind-the-scenes happenings over the show's eight seasons. The "Full House" cast is still very close, as evidenced by the many off-camera reunions they've had and the upcoming on-camera reunion that will happen with "Fuller House," the new Netflix series starring Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber.

Ron McGee, the "'Saved By the Bell' Story" writer, is penning the project. Front Street Pictures and Ringaling Productions Ltd. are producing with Harvey Kahn of "Flowers in the Attic" and Lifetime's "'Saved By the Bell' Story" and Stephen Bulka also of Lifetime's "'Saved By the Bell" Story" executive producing. Lifetime's "Saved By the Bell" movie failed to attract a big audience, only 1.6 million viewers tuned in, despite its headline generating.

No airdate has been set for the "Full House" movie, but we can probably thank "Fuller House" for this Lifetime movie's existence. The new Netflix series follows the recently widowed D.J. (Cameron Bure) as she raises her kids with the help of sister Stephanie (Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Barber). Stamos is executive producing the new series.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the "Full House" Lifetime movie news.
