Lin-Manuel Miranda Is Just an Oscar Away From an EGOT

If Lin-Manuel Miranda takes home the prize for best original song at Sunday night's Oscars, he will become the youngest person ever to EGOT: winning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards.

The "Hamilton" creator is nominated for writing music and lyrics for the song "How Far I'll Go," from the animated movie "Moana."

The term "EGOT" was popularized in an episode of "30 Rock" in which Tracy Morgan's character, Tracy Jordan, dons a diamond-encrusted necklace with the letters EGOT that he says once belonged to "Miami Vice" star Philip Michael Thomas.

And, as NBC News reports, Miranda also has a Pulitzer Prize, so technically he has the chance to PEGOT — something only Marvin Hamlisch and Richard Rodgers have achieved.
