“Mrs. Doubtfire” Sequel in the Works

Hellooooo! "Mrs. Doubtfire" is coming back, dears!

Fox 2000 is developing a sequel to the 1993 comedy that will reunite Robin Williams and director Chris Columbus, per the Hollywood Reporter.

In the original "Mrs. Doubtfire," Williams plays a father of three who goes undercover as a Scottish nanny. His estranged wife (Sally Field) decides she wants a divorce and won't allow her estranged husband to spend time with the kids. But his Mrs. Doubtfire facade fools her and the entire family (at first, anyway), allowing incognito dad to spend the time he wants with his family.

It's unclear whether Williams will be busting out the glasses, wig, floral dress and pearls again, or what exactly the plot line of the sequel will be. It's been 21 years since "Mrs. Doubtfire" was released, so presumably, all three kids are grown.

Mara Wilson, who played Williams' youngest daughter on the silver screen but has since retired from acting, made it clear she won't be clamoring for a chance to reprise her role. "I've been in some mediocre movies, but I've never been in a sequel. And I have no interest in being in one now," she tweeted.

"I'm glad I had the chance to be in it, and I'm proud of what we did, but I don't see how we could do it again," she wrote, before clarifying, "There are many, many reasons I don't want to be in Mrs. Doubtfire 2. But they haven't even asked me (yet), so no need to worry."
