Comic-Con 2013: Thursday's Big Events

"Dexter's" spree finally comes to an end, "Divergent" and "The Blacklist" make their debuts and "The X-Files" celebrate 20 years

It's the first full day of Comic-Con International and thousands will descend on San Diego decked out in their finest sci-fi/fantasy costume creations.

Whether you're donning your best Chewbacca outfit and hitting the panels at the Convention Center or simply enjoying the fest from afar, we'll bring you a list of must-see events everyday.

Here, some of the best on offer during Day 1:

"Divergent": Billed as the next "Hunger Games," Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Maggie Q will tease this adaptation of Veronica Roth's dystopian bestseller. (3:50 p.m. in Hall H)

"The Blacklist": NBC's new fall drama features James Spader as ex-government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington, one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. After mysteriously surrendering to the FBI, he offers to help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist, but under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone), an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. Advance screening and panel session with Spader. (3 p.m. in Room 6A)

"The X-Files" 20th Anniversary: Fox Mulder (David Duchovny), Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and show creator Chris Carter will field questions, discuss favorite episodes and lead a celebration in honor of the show that had millions on the edge of their seats when it debuted in 1993.  (3.30 p.m. in Ballroom 20)

EW’s Visionaries: Marc Webb ("The Amazing Spider-Man 2," "500 Days of Summer"), Alfonso Cuarón ("Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"), and Edgar Wright ("The World’s End," "Shaun of the Dead") will lead a master class on the art of filmmaking and a broad discussion about the future of film. (2:30 p.m. in Hall H)

EW's Brave New Warriors: Matt Smith ("Doctor Who"), Kit Harington ("Game of Thrones"), Steven Yeun ("The Walking Dead"), Tyler Posey ("Teen Wolf") and David Giuntoli ("Grimm") are scheduled to appear. (4:45 p.m. in Ballroom 20)

"Hannibal": Bryan Fuller's hit NBC drama hits SDCC for the first time with star Hugh Dancy. All fans want to know: What's on the menu for season 2 of the creepy serial killer procedural. ( 6:45 p.m. in Room 6A)

"Psych": The panel will be moderated by "Psych" guest star Cary Elwes and features stars James Roday, Dulé Hill, Maggie Lawson, Tim Omundson, Kirsten Nelson and Corbin Bernsen. (1p.m. in Ballroom 20)

"Europa Report": A panel featuring the film’s crew and cast, alongside scientists involved with a NASA concept for a real robotic spacecraft designed to investigate the mysteries of Europa, one of the orbiting moons of Jupiter. (1:10pm in Hall H)

"Sherlock": Steven Moffat (co-creator, writer, executive producer) will discuss the latest adventures of Sherlock Holmes and his long-suffering faithful friend, Dr. John Watson, set to return to PBS in 2014. (2:15 p.m. in Ballroom 20)

"South Park: The Stick of Truth": The creators of "South Park," Trey Parker and Matt Stone, will discuss their upcoming South Park videogame, "South Park: The Stick of Truth." (6 p.m. in Room 6BCF)

"Dexter": Interviews and Q&A session with the stars and executive producers of Showtime's much-loved drama about a serial killer. Featured panelists include series star/executive producer Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Jennifer Carpenter (Deb), David Zayas (Batista), and James Remar (Harry). As the final season heads towards its climax, fans should expect long lines ahead of this much-anticipated panel. (6:30p.m. in Hall H)
