Disney's Live-Action ‘Pete's Dragon' Gets Teaser Trailer

1977 film gets a live-action remake just in time for summer.

Disney's "Pete's Dragon" has released its first teaser trailer, and the action-packed footage will have you excited to see the titular character and his fantastical friend, a dragon named Elliott, hit the real world (for better or for worse).

The teaser gives longtime fans a first look at what's to come, including a quick look at the dragon, although you'll only catch Elliott for a second at the end of the teaser. The trailer also gives you a good look at Bryce Dallas Howard and Robert Redford, who are set to find out how a child named Pete (played by Oakes Fegley) survived in the forest for six years.

"You don't survive in a forest for six years...alone," Redford, who plays Howard's character's father, says in the trailer.

"He says he wasn't alone," Howard, who plays the park ranger who discovers Pete, cryptically responds.

"Pete's Dragon" hits theaters on Aug. 12, 2016, and reimagines the beloved 1977 classic.
