“The Voice” Recap: Top Five Announced

Christina Grimmie and RaeLynn returned to the stage as the Top 5 were announced on Tuesday night's episode of "The Voice."

Adam Levine's team left its mark on Tuesday night's episode of "The Voice," with all three singers earning a place in the Top 5 #VoiceResults.

First was Matt McAndrew, who performed "The Blower's Daughter" on Monday night's episode, followed by Damien, who performed "Someone Like You." The third contestant to be saved was Taylor John Williams of Team Gwen, who sang "Royals" on Monday's show. Team Blake's lone contestant, Craig Wayne Boyd, rounded out the top four.

That left Team Gwen's Ryan Sill and Team Adam's Chris Jamison, plus DaNica Shirey and Luke Wade — both of Team Pharrell — to compete for the #VoiceSave.

Shirey was the first to compete, delivering a soulful rendition of "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James.

Next up was Wade, who sang "Stand by Me," made famous by Ben E. King.

"Both of you guys are amazing," their coach Pharrell Williams said.

Ryan Sill tried to earn his third consecutive #VoiceSave with a performance of the Bryan Adams ballad "Heaven."

The final performance came from Chris Jamison, who sang "Georgia on My Mind," made famous by Ray Charles. And it was Jamison who earned the save, as he nearly doubled the score of the second-place contestant, Shirey.

Two artists made special appearances on "The Voice" stage. Christina Grimmie, a YouTube sensation who launched her career last season as a member of Team Adam, opened the show with a rendition of her new single "With Love."

"I've been doing a lot of performing, a lot of writing," she told host Carson Daly. "And I'm going on tour in Europe in January, so I'm really excited about that."

Country singer RaeLynn also returned to "The Voice" stage to perform "God Made Girls," her Billboard Top-20 country hit. She was a contestant on the show in 2012.

"RaeLynn is so important to country music right now because there aren't that many girls breaking through, and she just kicked in the door with that song," coach Blake Shelton said.

The audience also got a special inside look at the contestants' busy schedules — from rehearsals to photo shoots to stagecraft.

"It's awesome that our love of music is what brings us together," Luke Wade said in the sneak peek.

But on Tuesday night, the votes set the Top 5 apart.

"The Voice" airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
