Beyonce Makes Surprise Appearance At Coachella, Joins Jay-Z On Stage

Although she wasn't on the bill, Beyonce made a surprise appearance at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., on Friday night to join her husband, Jay-Z on stage during his headlining set.

Dressed in a graphic T-shirt, cut off jean shorts, mid-calf black boots and an '80s style Boy George-esque wide brimmed black hat, the superstar singer joined her main squeeze for "Young Forever," a song off his album, "The Blueprint 3."

"Ladies and gentlemen, I wanna introduce y'all to someone super-duper special," Jay-Z said as his wife began the walk out to the front of the stage. "I'm not even gonna say the name. I'm gonna let her speak for herself."

The beautiful singer drew screams from the crowd as she joined Jay-Z for the number.

The couple appeared to be enjoying themselves on stage, smiling and looking lovingly at each other during the song.

Following a host of fireworks, at the end of the number, Jay-Z paid a tribute to his lady with the crowd's help.

"One word – Beyonce!" he said. "Make some noise!"

Jay-Z's performance was praised by the Coachella masses, including Paris Hilton, who Tweeted about the set.

"Coachella Rocks! Jay Z was amazing! So much fun with my sis and all my girls! :)," she wrote.

Katy Perry was also thrilled.

"#HOVA is ruling," the "Hot & Cold" singer wrote, referencing Jay-Z's nickname, during the star's set. "#Cochella. no. one. compares."

Another superfan — Sean "Diddy" Combs – enjoyed Jay-Z's performance from afar as the concert was Webcast on Coachella's MySpace and Facebook pages.

"JAY is GOIN IN at Coachella!!!! Watching this live feed is the closest thing to being in 2 places at once!" he Tweeted.

Beyonce wasn't the only superstar guest at the festival. Her sister, Solange Knowles appeared on the side of the stage as did California's First Lady Maria Shriver and her daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger. Other stars spotted in the crowd included Anne Hathaway, "The City's'" Whitney Port and Justin Bobby from "The Hills."

Actress Zooey Deschanel also performed, hitting the stage earlier in the afternoon with her retro-esque ensemble, She & Him.
