Gene Simmon Finally Weds — on Camera, Of Course

Kiss bassist and reality star Gene Simmons wed his long-time girlfriend this weekend — and naturally, the nuptials are bound for the pair's reality series.

Among those at the Beverly Hills wedding Saturday night: Bill Maher, the rest of Kiss and the bride's former boss, Hugh Hefner. The couple's daughter served as maid of honor and sang for their first dance.

The made-up metal musician-cum-reality star has been with former Playboy Playmate Shannon Tweed for 28 years that produced two adult kids, so the marriage might not change much.

But according to Simmons, it reflects a change in him.

"It is time for me to grow up. I'm 62," he told "Entertainment Tonight" just before tying the knot. "I love Shannon with all my heart and all my soul and always will."

Despite Simmons' candor, the Chicago Sun-Times cited one skeptical wedding guest who said the affair felt "totally staged." The couple's show on A&E premieres this Tuesday.

Simmons proposed to Tweed, 54, back in July — also on their show, of course — with a 24-carat diamond ring.

A taping of the wedding is set to air on the couple's show later this month.
