Former Delaware Senate candidate and tea party favorite Christine O’Donnell walked out on an interview with Piers Morgan Wednesday over the CNN host’s “rudeness.”

“Ms O'Donnell wasn't happy about me quizzing her re views on withcraft [sic] and sex. But really flipped at gay marriage Qs. Ripped mike and fled,” Morgan tweeted in advance of the broadcast.

He said it was the first time in 25 years of interviews that someone had bailed on him. A clip released by CNN showed O'Donnell challenging Morgan's insistence on asking if she supported gay marriage.

"You're borderline getting a little bit rude," O'Donnell said, arguing the issue wasn't relevant to the new book she wanted to promote. Check out the exchange below.

Morgan told Broadcasting & Cable later that O'Donnell would likely be "embarrassed" by her actions and was welcome to return to the show Thursday to explain herself.

"We watched it back and it was just so odd," Morgan said in Los Angeles after the interview via satellite ended. "She was getting some kind of signal from her people off camera, then this woman in our New York studio just jumped in front of the camera."

O’Donnell became a household name during her failed 2010 Senate bid after releasing an ad denying she was a witch.

The widely-mocked ad was a response to Bill Maher's release of a 1999 "Politically Incorrect" clip where O'Donnell talked about "dabbling in witchcraft" with an old boyfriend.

She's recently been on a tour to promote her new tome, "Troublemaker," and has admitted her "I'm not a witch, I'm you" ad was a mistake.
