Kirstie Alley “Too Chicken” for “Dancing With the Stars”

Kirstie Alley won't be lacing up her "Dancing" shoes anytime soon.

The former "Cheers" star denied a tabloid report that said she'd signed on for the next season of "Dancing with the Stars."

"Just a rumor," Alley Tweeted Thursday, Usmagazine.com reported. "Imagine that. NOT doing DWTS this season... Way too chicken!! Maybe next season if Im invited again!!!"

Earlier, In Touch had reported 59-year-old actress would most likely be paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the hunky dancer who is rumored to be dating his partner from last season's show, ESPN anchor and sideline reporter Erin Andrews.

Bristol Palin, "Jersey Shore" cast member Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, singer Michael Bolton and former "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff have recently had their "Dancing" involvement more or less confirmed, though the official cast announcement won't be made until August 30.

Alley won an Emmy and Golden Globe for her role as bar manager Rebecca Howe on "Cheers."
