NiteTalk: Miami Music Week: Glyn Morgan On the Rage That is FSOB

It's deeper than any ocean, darker than all dreams, full of low blows and the kinda sub-atomic particles that makes a pulse giddy-up and go. It's breakbeat, dig? And for the past decade that boom of a sound's been found -- and celebrated -- by the cats behind Future Sound of Breaks. Niteside got with FSOB co-founder Glyn Morgan on the eve of an unmitigated Miami Music Week blowout.

What the hell's a FSOB? Haha. FSOB is originally known as Future Sound of Breaks. Me and Brant Vogt are the founding fathers of the infamous brand, and Angel Candelaria is a corporate partner. We are a full-scale event production company that specializes in the world of bass music -- breakbeat, dubstep, drum & bass, electro bass, old school breaks. The works.

Why'd you all decide to devote an annual event to such a sound? The three of us, along with our dedicated team and family, have been fans of the breakbeat sound from our very beginning in the club industry, dating back to the mid 1990s. There was ultimately a missing link during the Winter Music Conference that needed to be represented in a proper fashion and here we are 10 years later reppin' it to the fullest.

Who are some of the highlight acts you've had over the years? We've had the pleasure of having a large majority of the premier acts in the world of breaks and bass throughout our years on the scene, among them Stanton Warriors, DJ Icey, Excision, Dirtyphonics, Planet of the Drums, DJ Craze, Zeds Dead, Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, Deekline & Wizard, Uberzone and tons more.

Who are some of the many you'll be highlighting for FSOB 10? Datsik, Foreign Beggars, Mt. Eden, Araabmuzik, Figure, Plump DJ's, LTJ Bukem & MC Tali, Ed Rush & Optical, Dieselboy, Terravita, Bare & Smash Gordon, Crizzly, etc.

Any other special surprises you wanna tip us off about?
We have a variety of special things in the works for the fans for this year's 10th Anniversary of the FSOB exclusive event during WMC. FSOB will also be going back on our annual tour in 2012, following the special festivities in Miami. We're really excited about this year!

In a sentence, what can Breaks fans expect for FSOB's anniversary?
PURE PANDEMONIUM!

FSOB 10th Anniversary takes place Friday March 23, 8pm-7am at Mekka 950 NE 2nd Ave Downtown Miami. Want tickets? Go here.
