1 Killed, Another Injured in Opa-locka Double Shooting: Cops

David Boothe, 27, was found dead in his car early Thursday morning in Opa-locka, police said.

One man was killed and a woman was injured in a double shooting early Thursday morning in Opa-locka, officials said.

David Boothe, 27, was found shot to death in his car just after midnight at 13200 Aswan Road, according to Opa-locka Police.

His female passenger, who remains unidentified, was injured from apparent gunshot wounds and airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center, police said. Her condition remains unknown.

The victim's father, Frank Boothe, said the injured woman was dating his son.

The father said he found his son after waking up to gunfire outside his home.

"I found him lifeless in his passenger seat, car still running," Frank Boothe said.

Cousin Namara Brown said David Boothe had been looking at his iPad in his car when he was shot.

"We just came home and he was sitting in his car watching his iPad and they shot him up, that's all I know," she said.

Police have not identified a suspect and urge anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
