Cross-Dressing Car Thieves Caught After Crash: Cops

Two Miami escorts in an allegedly stolen SUV were nabbed in Gainesville after trying to outrun police in drag

Apparently cross-dressing escorts can't run in heels, either.

Two South Florida men who allegedly stole a Chevy Trailblazer from a john in Miami were caught in Gainesville in drag after crashing during a police chase, reports the Gainesville Sun.

Shaun Nicholas Anderson, 20, of Hobe Sound, and Trehvonne Andras Jerry, 22, of Riviera Beach, were dressed as women when they attempted to flee Gainesville police on foot Thursday night after driving the vehicle off-road during a pursuit.

Officer Dylan Hayes-Morrison said that after noticing the SUV had been stolen out of Miami, according to the Sun, the pair were ordered to turn off the car while it was parked at a stop light.

But Anderson sped off, and according to the police report officers followed with their headlights off to avoid provoking a high-speed pursuit. The Trailblazer shortly crashed into a nearby yard, and both men were nabbed after trying to run from the scene.

Anderson admitted to working as an escort and taking the Trailblazer's keys from a client, states the Sun. Though he claimed to police he borrowed the vehicle to visit his grandmother, its owner reported the car stolen.

Arrest records show the pair were charged with prostitution in Miami in August of 2010.

This time, Anderson remains in an Alachua County jail on a $19,000 bond facing charges of grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of an accident, and knowingly driving on a suspended license.

Jerry was charged with trespassing. Neither man was immediately reachable for comment.
