A man and woman were killed and two others were hospitalized after a shooting in West Perrine Sunday afternoon. Robin Pinkard, Carlos Carbonell and Connor Hayden comment.

Wong faces two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder, police said. It wasn't immediately known whether he has an attorney.

He and his wife's 7-year-old child was not present when the shooting happened, police said.

Neighbors said the suspect sped away but he did not get too far.

"We know that he did flee and ended up at another location where he was taken into custody," Miami-Dade Police spokesperson Robin Pinkard said.

Authorities made the arrest at a home near the Robert Morgan Vocational Technical School in southwest Miami-Dade. Detectives inspected a white pickup truck parked in the driveway.

A few people were seen consoling a woman outside of the house as police investigated.

Back at the intersection where two people lost their lives, there were visible signs of the property damage at the corner home. A metal fence was toppled over, and part of the living room wall was smashed in.

"I pulled up to the scene and a bunch of cops, a helicopter, and bodies covered," said Connor Hayden, who lives nearby.

Longtime resident Carlos Carbonell said what caused his ears to perk up as he worked out in his garden was the loud noise of a vehicle slamming into something multiple times.

"I just hear the sound of wheels spinning of a truck and crashing, a few times," Carbonell said.

Carbonell said he rushed outside and saw two bodies on the ground and the large white pickup.

"I saw it running (over) once. But my neighbor who was close, he told me he saw the car hitting a woman, more than once," Carbonell said. "It was violent, it was violent."

Late Monday evening, workers covered the exposed living room of the home with plywood and washed the driveway of debris. Loved ones loaded a truck with belongings from the house, which has been deemed unsafe.
