LAWYER ASKS FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL TO INVESTIGATE WINSTON CASE

A lawyer for the woman who accused Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston of sexual assault asked Friday for the state's attorney general to independently examine the rape investigation. She claims it was riddled with problems. Last week, Leon County State Attorney Willie Meggs said there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute.

MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH IN 2011 MURDER CASE

A 21-year-old Marion County man is heading to death row. A circuit judge in Ocala sentenced Michael Bargo to death for the April 2011 killing of 15-year-old Seath Jackson in Summerfield. Four other defendants in the case have already received life sentences. He will be the youngest inmate on death row.

ASTRONAUT MAY GET CHRISTMAS WISH

Space station astronaut Rick Mastracchio may get his Christmas wish for a spacewalk, thanks to a broken cooling system. He says he's ready to go if deemed necessary by Mission Control. One of the two cooling loops on the space station shut down Wednesday and flight controllers suspect a bad valve inside an external pump.

PENSACOLA APPROVES DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP REGISTRY

Pensacola has become the latest Florida city to establish a domestic partnership registry. The registry will allow both gay and straight adults who live together to obtain some of the rights entitled to married couples. At least 14 cities and counties around the state have established registries, representing about half the state's population.

FINANCIAL PLANNER PLAYS SANTA CLAUSE AT WAL-MART

A financial planner from central Florida donated some $20,000 to help pay off the accounts of 76 people at a Wal-Mart store near Lady Lake. Greg Parady overhead a woman in the store talking about the difficulties of paying for the holiday items and decided to help her — and others.

FOUR INJURED IN FLORIDA CITY SHOOTING

Florida City Police are investigating a shooting that left four injured Saturday morning. Two victims were airlifted to Kendall Regional Trauma Center and two others were taken to Homestead Hospital. One is in critical condition, according to police.
