    VIGIL IN GRAFFITI ARTIST STUN GUN DEATH

    A vigil is being held Monday night in Miami Beach for a teenage graffiti artist who died after he was shocked by police with a Taser. Organizers say the event marks what would have been Israel ``Reefa'' Hernandez'-Llach's 19th birthday. It's being held outside a vacant McDonald's where Hernandez-Llach was last seen alive, tagging his name on the building's wall.

    HOMEOWNERS SUED IN TEEN DUI DEATH

    The parents of a South Florida teenager killed in a February drunk-driving crash have sued the homeowners where the driver attended separate parties. The Palm Beach Post reports that the parents of 18-year-old Jamie Allen claim the two homeowners did not take adequate steps to prevent people under age 21 from gaining access to alcohol. The case is pending in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.

    UM HOSPITAL DEDICATES NEW HELIPAD

    The University of Miami Hospital is opening a new helicopter pad that will provide greater access to medical care for patients, including those from the Bahamas. Officials from the Bahamas and the hospital will be on hand Monday for the dedication.

    IMMIGRANT DETENTION

    University of Miami Law students say they are being denied full access to immigrants held at the Glades County Detention Center. The students say the Glades County Sheriff's Office that runs the center cuts short client meetings and requires full-fledged attorneys to be present for students to meet privately with detainees. The students want immigration authorities to increase access and also to review general conditions at the center.

    DOLPHINS BLOW LATE LEAD TO CAROLINA

    The Carolina Panthers came from behind to defeat the Miami Dolphins
    on Sunday in Miami. The Dolphins led for most of the game. But with under 3 minutes left, Cam Newton led the Panthers to an 80-yard touchdown drive and the Dolphins lost 20-16.

    CLASSMATES GATHER AT MAKESHIFT MEMORIAL FOR AARON VU, 10

    A memorial was made outside of a Northwest Miami-Dade nail salon after an armed robbery left a 10-year-old dead and his father injured. The suspects broke into a nail salon at 14832 Northwest 7th Ave. and fired shots, investigators said. Aaron Vu, 10, died at Jackson Memorial Hospital where his father remains hospitalized.
