A tropical wave will pass south of South Florida in the next day or so, funneling moisture across the area and boosting shower and thunderstorm chances.

While Friday morning starts out fairly quiet, clouds will quickly build up and yield afternoon showers and storms. The wet weather will continue overnight tonight and into Saturday.

Interactive Radar

Some locally heavy rains are possible through Saturday night. We should transition back to some sunshine by Sunday afternoon with a drier, brighter pattern to follow early next week.

Highs for the next few days will peak in the upper 80s while lows drop to the upper 70s.

In the open Atlantic, Tropical Depression #7 is moving towards the Lesser Antilles and may strengthen into Tropical Storm Gordon by the weekend. For now South Florida is not threatened by this storm and we remain outside the forecast cone.
