Alleged ‘Boom Boom Room' Madam Pleads Guilty: Report

Police allege underaged girls were sold for sex at her home while Laschell Harris collected the money

An Oakland Park woman charged with helping her boyfriend run a prostitution operation out of their home plead guilty in court Wednesday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Laschell Harris, 37, admitted helping women for sex in an enterprise known as the 'Boom Boom Room'.

She plead guilty to one count of sex trafficking of a teenaged girl in exchange for four other charges being dropped in a deal with prosecutors, the paper reports. The charge carries a sentence of at least 10 years in prison.

Harris and her boyfriend James Mozie, 34, were arrested in May by an FBI task force. Agents found two 17-year-old girls, two women, and 12 men in the their home, according to authorities, along with timers, boxes of condoms, several hundred dollars in cash and job applications asking potential prostitutes their willingness to perform certain sex acts.

A 16-year-old found in the home said she participated in selling her body for sex, said agents, who allege Harris collected money while underaged girls danced in the living and pornography played on televisions. An armed guard allegedly stood watch at the door of the home.

The teen explained that she smoked marijuana that she believes was laced with something else, then had sex with two men and her 14-year-old cousin. According to police, she also said she had sex with Mozie, who said it was part of her orientation.

Mozie has plead not guilty, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

A third man arrested at the Boom Boom Room surprised a judge in the case last month when, in response to a question about his line of work, 45-year-old William Rice responded, "Criminal."
