Astros Fans Dressed as Castro Heckled Guillen

Marlins manager on the receiving end of some mocking cos-play in Houston

Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen was the target of some inventive heckling on Tuesday night when a group of Astros fans dressed up as Fidel Castro at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

It was only a matter of time before opposing fans found a creative way to mock Guillen for the infamous comments he made about Castro in April. He served a five-game suspension for telling Time magazine "I love Fidel Castro," but the statute of limitations on criticizing Guillen for his words has yet to expire.

The prank did not last long, however. According to a blogger with Yardbarker, who learned of the incident via one of the fans' Facebook page, the group was ejected by stadium personnel after television cameras spotted the group midway through Tuesday's game.

That marked the second time Guillen's Castro remarks came back to bite him in Houston. On Monday he snapped at a Houston radio personality who asked him if he had seen an extended backlash in Miami stemming from his words about the Cuban dictator. He responded with a string of expletives.

Unfortunately for Guillen, now that the internet has heard about these Astros fans dressing up as Castro, it is almost certain that he will see more fans dressed like Fidel and Che Guevara on future road trips.

But will other opponents be as sensitive as the Astros and remove would-be fake Fidels from the stands in the future? Maybe not.
