Miami-Dade Police are looking for a violent suspect who tried to sexually assault a woman who was able to fight him off.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday, as the woman was walking home in the area of Kendall drive and Southwest 122nd Avenue, Miami-Dade Police Spokesman Javier Baez said.

Police said the suspect approached the woman, yelling obscenities at her, before he pulled her into nearby bushes and violently attempted to sexually assault her.

The 31-year-old woman was able to fight back, causing an injury to the suspect's face. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, between 25 and 28 years old, about 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds with medium length dreadlocks.

The suspect should have a noticeable injury to his cheek which may need immediate medical attention, police said.

Anyone with info is asked to call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
