According to the report, the group had tried to walk out further into the ocean but realized it was difficult just to stand.

The waves at the time were strong and not safe to be in, the report said. The group decided to get out of the water but it was difficult because of the current pulling them out.

Guillaume couldn't make his way to shore and disappeared into the ocean, the report said.

His friends called 911 after they couldn't find him, Hernandez said.

"They realized they were one short," Hernandez said.
