Bodies Found in Northwest Miami-Dade Identified as Missing Teens

Bodies found near Everglades were teens who were reported missing

Police have identified two bodies found on the edge of the Everglades in Northwest Miami-Dade on Monday as a pair of teens who were reported missing just two days earlier.

Miami-Dade Police say 18-year-old Hector Tornado Miranda, of Doral, and 19-year-old Marcos Ernesto Pomares, of Miami, were found dead Monday in a wooded area in the 13300 block of Northwest 25th Street.

Miranda and Pomares had been reported missing on Saturday, police said. They were later found as part of a missing persons investigation.

Investigators said both bodies were found in shallow, marshy water.

The cause of death is unknown and is pending toxicology results from the Medical Examiner's Office.
