Police say a 33-year-old man is dead after driving his motor scooter in the wrong direction and being hit by an oncoming car.

The Boynton Beach Police Department says Antonio S. Lopez was driving northbound in the southbound left lane of North Federal Highway at around 3 a.m. Saturday. Investigators said Lopez drove his 2012 Taiz motor scooter head on into a 1997 Toyota 4-Runner being driven by Sanuse Cetoue.

Lopez died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Police said Cetoue will not be charged.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call traffic homicide investigators Charles Turco at 561-742-6111.
