    A 14-year-old child two others were injured after the child was hit by a car on a Lauderhill intersection, officials said.

    The incident happened on NW 46th Avenue and NW 19th Street Thursday morning, Lauderhill officials said.

    The unidentified child is in stable condition with a leg injury after being taken to Broward General Medical Center on trauma alert, officials said.

    An officer responding to the crash involving the child was also involved in a crash with another car on NW 19th Street and SR-7, police said.

    The officer was taken to Plantation General Hospital with no life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition, according to officials. The female adult driving the other car was also taken to Broward General Medical Center in serious condition, but did not sustain life-threatening injuries and was being released Thursday afternoon, officials said.

    The cause of the crashes is still unclear.

    Lauderhill Police Spokesman Michael Butkus said roads in that area are busy, but they don't see too many crashes.

    "NW 19th street itself is a rather lengthy road that goes through businesses, common storefronts and transitions into a residential area," Butkus said. "It is a busy roadway. It is a road that is traveled to get to a residential area. As far as regular traffic crashes frequently, not as much."

    Officials did not immediately release further details of the investigation.
