Coral Gables Courthouse to Reopen Next Week

The court house will reopen on Nov. 2

The Coral Gables courthouse has been cleared to reopen, a week after it was closed because several people complained of respiratory problems.

On Oct. 8, court house was fumigated with vikane gas and chloropicrin tear gas, according to health officials. On Oct 20, Coral Gables Fire Rescue responded to the court house due to several people feeling ill, and the building was evacuated. Seven people were transported to local hospitals.

The Coral Gables court was ordered to suspend services and remain closed until samples were reviewed by Miami Dade County Health Department.

On Friday, Miami Dade Internal Services received clearance from Dade County Health Department.

The building was expected to reopen on Nov. 2.
