Dinner Between Friends Leads to Shooting, Stabbing

Two friends hospitalized after argument at dinner leads to knife and gun play

Two friends sharing dinner wound up in the hospital after an argument led to them stabbing and shooting each other in Lauderhill Wednesday night.

Lauderhill Police spokesman Capt. Rick Rocco says the two men, who are in their 40s, were eating at Ochi Seafood restaurant at 552 West Oakland Park Boulevard when they got into an argument and decided to take things outside.

One man pulled out a knife and started slashing and stabbing and the other pulled out a gun and started shooting, Rocco said.

The man with the knife was shot twice, once in the head and once in the cheek. The gunman suffered multiple stab wounds.

Both friends were transported to Broward General Hospital, where their conditions were unknown. They're both expected to live, Rocco said.

"At this point, we don't know what the argument was about, what would cause two long-time friends to do this to each other," Rocco said.
